Officially Unveiled: BMW 1-Series Convertible


BMW has just released all the pics and info of its newest cabriolet, a drop top version of its smallest and cheapest model. Just like the coupe, it will come in 128i and 135i flavors, the former offering 215 HP and the latter 306 HP and 300 lb-ft. The drop top descends in just 22 seconds.

More Subaru Impreza WRX STI Pictures


Last week revealed Subaru first official picture of the new Impreza WRX STI, which won't be officially revealed until October 24. Unfortunately, this picture was dark by nature and obscures many of the elements in which the Subie-Fans are interested like the grille and lower front bumper.
Now Subaru has revealed a new official picture, which shows the the car's rear end. And the new pic is dark too, so there's little mystery left.
It'll be shown to the public for the first time at next month's Tokyo Motor Show.

First Look: 2009 Toyota Matrix



SEMA 2008 coincides with Halloween this year and Toyota will use the show as a backdrop for the intros of the all-new Corolla and Matrix. Last week the automaker revealed the first teaser image of the all-new Matrix, all dressed up in its Halloween costume.

Toyota Officialy Debuts 8th Generation Land Cruiser


We've already seen some shots of 8th genration Land Cruiser, but Toyota officially debuts the car before its public reveal at the Australian International Motor Show in October. The new Land Cruiser is completely redesigned and it's also 60mm longer and 30mm wider than its predecessor.

Toyota will be offering the Land Cruiser with either a turbodiesel V8 or gas V8 engine. The diesel will be a 4.5L producing 286 HP and 480 ft-lbs. of torque, and it will be mated to a 6-speed automatic. The gas engine will be a 4.7L VVT-i V8 producing 288 HP and 328 ft-lbs. of torque, will be mated to a 5-speed automatic. But in US it will go on sale with the Tundra's 5.7L V8, which produces 381 HP and 401 ft-lbs. of torque.

Hybrid Lexus RX400 Outsells The Standard Version


In Europe Lexus sells more hybrid RX 400 than the regular gas version of the same car. Lexus says that in Europe the Lexus RX 400h now makes up 83 percent of the overall RX sales. That means the hybrid version of the RX is outselling the regular gas version by a ratio of 4 to 1.

Frankfurt 2007: Lexus GS




At Frankfurt Motor Show made Lexus European debut of the IS-F and worldwide debut of the 2008 GS 450h. The 2008 Lexus GS 450h shows how the standard GS models will be updated for the 2008 model year. A new front bumper and tweaked headlight design, new side mirrors with integrated turn signals are the most obvious changes. The interior gets updated too, but we'll have to wait a couple of weeks to see the interior of the car. Also there is a new "active stabilizer system" available on the GS 450h to improve the car's handling.

Breaking: Colin McRae Dies With Five Year-Old Son


The former World Rally Champion Colin McRae has died after the helicopter he was piloting crashed into the ground near his home in Strathclyde. His five year-old son, an unnamed adult male and child was also on board. According to reports, all of them are dead.

Frankfurt 2007: Volkswagen Up


The rear-engine, three-door, four-seat city car from Volkswagen aims the Smart with a small footprint (3,450mm long and 1,620mm wide) and inoffensive design. The 50-year old rear-engine drivetrain allows the right balance of size and cargo space. All the seats, except the driver's, fold down and can be removed, and once out they can be stored in the front-trunk or in the rear cargo area.

There aren't more information because VW hasn't released the official release yet.

Frankfurt 2007: Ford Focus


Finally the Focus is wearing new "Kinetic" design cues like its siblings the Mondeo and S-Max, which sweep across the company's product line ever since it debuted on the Iosis Concept two years ago in Frankfurt. New Ford Focus has a new front end with new headlights, a larger lower air intake and more sculpted hood.

The Focus also gets a new interior that is upgraded in both design and the materials. 2008 Focus will be also available with a dual-clutch 6-speed gearbox,which can be fitted with 136 HP and 110 HP versions of the 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi engine.

Frankfurt 2007: Toyota iQ


In Frankfurt 2007 Toyota's newest concept is unveiled: The iQ. The 2980mm 3+1 minicar concept is normally a two-seater, a third seat can also be flipped up for a small adult or child in the back. The iQ will have its engine mounted up front, powering the front wheels. Which engines available is an open question.
